Recently, the reporter visited the Beijing High-end Manufacturing Base in Fangshan District to see the real appearance of the civilian unmanned helicopter. In addition to reconnaissance, patrolling, and guarding missions, it can also be used in power line laying, environmental monitoring, pesticide spraying and other fields. This year, 25 drones will "take off" from the Beijing High-end Manufacturing Base and show their prowess in scientific research, experiments, and various exercises and training.
Small helicopter sleeping plant
In the northeast of the base park, there is a white factory with a construction area of 11,000 square meters. This is Beijing Jinpengda Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., which specializes in the production of drones. Jinpengda's factory is fully enclosed, a bit like a giant safe. After the chairman's assistant Hou Xueli entered the password, she opened the door of the "safe".
What appeared before the reporter was an empty "helipad" with four unmanned aircraft and several camouflaged vehicles parked. Xiang Zhen, director of the design department, told the reporter that this "helipad" is actually the future production area. The factory is still under construction and is expected to start production in May or June this year.
Two of the four drones on display are military target drones, and the other two are unmanned helicopters that will be put into civilian use. Reporters saw that both helicopters were very small, occupying less than 10 square meters. According to Xiang Zhen, these two helicopters are WD100 and WD200 series, and the flight control system has completely independent intellectual property rights.
Special environment operations show their skills
Hou Xueli told reporters that currently most domestic drones are used in the military field. After entering the Beijing high-end manufacturing base, Jinpengda will develop and promote civilian drones. "Civilian drones are still a blank in Beijing and even in China." Hou Xueli said that compared with foreign countries where drones have long been put into civilian use, my country still has a large gap in this regard.
According to Xiang Zhen, an unmanned helicopter is actually just a platform. It can perform any work depending on the system installed on it. Civil unmanned helicopters can be used in many fields such as environmental protection, land surveying and mapping, power construction, and crop sowing and spraying. "It can be used for power line inspection and environmental monitoring." Through the aircraft door, the reporter saw that the cabin was equipped with a flight control system composed of computers and other equipment, which is the "brain" of the drone. A precision electronic eye is installed on the belly of the fuselage, which can transmit monitoring images in real time.
Xiang Zhen told reporters that unmanned helicopters can operate in a variety of harsh conditions such as mountains, fires, earthquakes, etc., so that workers do not have to take risks in person. When spraying crops, the wind generated by the aircraft propeller can push the drugs to penetrate the crops from top to bottom, greatly improving the efficacy of the drugs.
However, the current unmanned helicopters have to perform a "double act" to complete the mission. The camouflage vehicle in the factory is equipped with a control console. When performing the mission, the helicopter must "take a car" to reach the designated area.
25 drones to be delivered within the year
According to Hou Xueli, the domestic civil UAV industry is almost undeveloped, so the market prospects are very broad. However, due to the characteristics of the use of unmanned helicopters, it is impossible to mass-produce them. Generally, they are customized according to user needs. The price varies depending on the equipment installed in the helicopter. In the future, the average price may be 4 to 5 million yuan per helicopter.
Xiang Zhen said that for some users who need helicopters for operations, the price of several million yuan is actually very cost-effective, at least it can save the high cost of training pilots. Hou Xueli revealed that according to the order situation, 25 drones will "take off" in Beijing's high-end manufacturing base this year. This first batch of products is mainly used for scientific research, experiments, and various exercises and training.
The reporter learned from the Fangshan District Government that high-end manufacturing industries such as drones have become an important part of the Zhongguancun Fangshan Park. In 2012, the fixed asset investment of Fangshan High-end Manufacturing Base reached 2.212 billion yuan, and the companies that have been put into production, such as Beijing West Heavy Industry and Changan Automobile, achieved an annual output value of about 800 million yuan, tax revenue of about 37 million yuan, and provided employment for more than 1,800 people.
